9 a.m. - 10 a.m. - Work with Meaning: Finding a Career in Today's Nonprofit World - Hall of Fame Room

Speaker: Steven Pascal-Joiner, Action Without Borders, Portland, OR

As more people seek careers that integrate values, ethics, and tangible contributions to society, positions in nonprofit organizations are becoming increasingly competitive. This presentation gives a targeted nonprofit sector overview which includes creating meaningful nonprofit relationships, finding nonprofit career opportunities, learning about nonprofit recruiting habits, and practical application tips ranging from writing nonprofit-focused resumes and cover letters to negotiating an offer and assessing your career choices.

9 a.m. - 1 p.m. - Network with recruiters, discover available opportunities, and seek interviews with participating companies and organizations

1 p.m. - 2 p.m. - Career Conversations With Alumni - Hall of Fame Room, Meet alumni currently working in Technology, Healthcare, Advertising, Banking, Sporting Goods, Public Relations and Non Profit Organizations.

2 p.m. - 6 p.m. - Interviews
(You will schedule these interviews during the fair)

Things to do!

If you are planning to attend the 2008 First Avenue Career and Graduate School Fair, you must complete a registration form. The form can be completed online or it can be downloaded here so you can print it and bring it to your career office with the registration fee. The fee is $5.00 at your career center office, $6.00 online and $10.00 if you register at the door of the fair.

Companies and organizations participating in the 2008 First Avenue Career and Graduate School Fair will be listed here on this website. Be sure to check back frequently as companies will register as early as January and as late as March 31st.

Bring your college/university ID with you — you will not be admitted without it. First year alumni must register prior to April 1st.
